“Ikken, Where Ancient Art Meets Life Aesthetics in Jingtong” Private Art Gallery used to be Taiyang Mining Industry Guesthouse in Pingxi. Built in 1939 (the 14th year of Showa era), the Guesthouse was designated as a municipal historic site in 2003.
The architecture in the complex is a large, academy-inspired building, a rarity in Taiwan. It’s erected gracefully as a standalone building in a lush, forested space sized at over 600 pings, bearing witness to the glorious past of the black gold era.
